What is the “dream team”? According to Google, it's an American basketball team from the 90s (boring). I have a different definition for a dream team. This last term, I was elected to be my chapter’s N’siah. Many things were changing, and I was scared, but my advisors helped me get set up and do the best job possible.

This year, my chapter’s old advisors both left, but we got two new ones: Oli and Eze.

Eze was the Regional Godol when I started BBYO. I saw him as a mentor and friend. He went to the same JCC as I did, so I saw him quite often. When I heard he was my advisor, I was super happy.  When I served my first term on Chapter Board, Oli was the N’siah. We shared a term on board and formed a friendship. I was so happy to learn she was going to be my advisor. Not only is she super funny and nice, but I knew her, and she knew me. It was so easy for me to learn more and adapt since we already knew how to work together!

Oli and Eze joined the Chapter as advisors at the same time I was elected, so their guidance was helpful from the start!

I still text them every day in our group chat with questions, and they always answer me in the nicest and funniest ways possible! 

I don’t know how I would have survived being a N’siah without them. I am incredibly grateful to have them as my advisors, hopefully, there are many great things to come in this next term.

¿Qué es el “dream team”? Según Google, es un equipo de básquet americano de los 90s (aburridísimooo). Personalmente, yo tengo una definición distinta para el “dream team”. Este último term me eligieron para ser la N’siah de mi chapter. Muchísimas cosas estaban cambiando y, honestamente, me daba un poco de miedo, pero mis advisors me ayudaron a asentarme y hacer el mejor trabajo posible.

Este año, los dos advisors viejos de mi chapter se fueron y entraron dos nuevos: Eze y Oli.

Eze era el Godol regional cuando empecé BBYO. Lo veía como un mentor y formamos una amistad que compartimos ese año. Él iba a la misma comunidad que yo, entonces lo veía seguido. Cuando escuché que iba a ser mi advisor, estaba súper emocionada. Cuando estuve en chapter board la primera vez (hace muuuuchos años), Oli era mi N’siah. Compartimos un term juntas en board y, mientras tanto, formamos una amistad. Me puse súper feliz al saber que iba a ser mi advisor. No solo es súper graciosa y simpática, sino que la conocía y ella me conocía a mí. Me resultó mucho más fácil aprender más y adaptarme, ya que ya teníamos una idea de cómo trabajar juntas.

Las elecciones fueron el principio de su term como advisors y el mío como N'siah. Fue muy divertido aprender y trabajar con ellos, y adaptarnos juntos a nuestras nuevas responsabilidades.

Ahora, los molesto casi todos los días en nuestro grupo de WhatsApp con cosas del chapter. Estoy todo el tiempo escribiéndoles y haciéndoles preguntas, y siempre me responden de forma súper copada y divertida.

No sé cómo habría sobrevivido siendo una N'siah sin ellos. Estoy increíblemente agradecida de tenerlos como mis advisors. Espero que haya muchas cosas copadas por venir en este próximo term.
