ב-7 באוקטובר 2023, בזמן שחגגתי את יום הולדתי ה-17, טרגדיה פגעה בישראל, והציתה מלחמה שנמשכת עד היום. מכיוון שיום הולדתי ה-18 הקרוב בוודאי ירגיש שונה מאשר בשנים עברו, השקתי את " פרויקט יום ההולדת שלי " כדי לעורר תחושה חיובית ביום זה. במקום לחגוג בדרך הרגילה, שיתפתי פעולה עם כפר נוער שביקרתי בו בישראל, ימין אורד, כדי להבטיח של-400 ילדיו בסיכון וילדי עולים תהיה הזדמנות לחגוג את ימי הולדתם.

ימין אורד שימש זה מכבר כמקום מקלט לילדים שחוו טראומה, עוני וקשיים. על ידי גיוס 10,000 דולר, אני מקווה לספק לכל ילד חגיגת יום הולדת מיוחדת, תזכורת לכך שהוא אהוב ומוערך.
